Day 1: Hanoi - Nghia Lo
You will be picked up at your hotel in Hanoi at 8 am by your private tour guide and driver. As you’re exiting the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, your tour guide will explain to you the tour ahead and what to expect.
From Hanoi, you’ll drive northwestward to Yen Bai province through the fantastic countryside, past rural villages and untouched nature.
You will arrive in Nghia Lo town in the early afternoon, and check into your homestay in a small peaceful village near Nghia Lo before having a delicious local lunch.
Once you’ve settled into the homestay, you’ll head on a bicycle tour and discover the culture and community of the local ethnic tribes and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the local villages, rice paddies, and surrounding mountains.
After the bicycle tour, you’ll return to the homestay for dinner before enjoying a quiet and relaxed evening.
Day 2: Nghia Lo - Mu Cang Chai
The second day of the tour starts with a breakfast at the homestay before checking out. From the homestay, you’ll head to Tu Le town, a small village located in a beautiful valley at the foot of the magnificent Khau Pha Pass.
Once in Tu Le, you’ll head on a light trek to the rice valley and visit the rural villages, meet local people, and experience the culture of this northern Vietnamese province, famous for its spectacular rice terraces.
After the trek, you’ll head back to town for lunch before traveling to Khau Pha Pass, one of the most scenic passes in Vietnam. The view through the valley and rice terraces is astonishing, particularly during the harvesting season.
You will arrive in Mu Cang Chai town in the late afternoon, where you’ll check into your homestay.
You will enjoy a delicious dinner before heading to your room after an active day.
Day 3: Mu Cang Chai - Ngoc Chien
You will enjoy a fantastic breakfast at the homestay before going on a beautiful 6-mile (10 km) trek from Che Cu Nha to La Pan Tan, through some of Vietnam’s most stunning scenery.
The trek will take you through the breathtaking rice terraces of Mu Cang Chai, passing small villages of the Hmong hill tribe and the beautiful mountainous nature.
After the trek, you’ll be picked up by your private driver and taken to Ngoc Chien, where you’ll dip into a fantastic hot spring to recover from today’s trek before checking into the homestay.
You will have an excellent local dinner in Ngoc Chien, after which you’ll be free to explore this untouched picturesque region and its hospitable people.
Day 4: Mu Cang Chai - Hanoi
After checking out and enjoying breakfast at the homestay, your private driver will take you back to Hanoi.
The 190-mile (300 km) drive will take 6-7 hours with rest stops and lunch on the way. Once you arrive in Hanoi, the driver will drop you off at your hotel.
