Day 1: Hanoi – Tan Lac – Thung Khe – Mai Chau
The tour starts as your private driver-guide picks you up from your Hanoi hotel at 8 AM.
From Hanoi, you head southwest to Hoa Binh Province, the gateway to the majestic mountainous area of northern Vietnam.
After about a 3-hour drive, you’ll arrive at Muong Khen, a small town in Hoa Binh, where you’ll have a one-hour warm-up ride on back roads through beautiful farm-lands and villages.
You will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Muong Khen before driving to the foot of Thung Khe Pass. There you’ll jump back on your bike and pedal on a picturesque road alongside the Hoa Binh Dam.
From Thung Khe Pass, you’ll get back on the support vehicle and head for Mai Chau Valley. Once in Mai Chau, you’ll check into your homestay where you’ll have dinner and relax after the day’s 25-mile (40 km) cycling.
Day 2: Mai Chau – Ban Xo – Mai Hich
The second day starts with breakfast at your homestay before you warm up to the 22-miles (35 km) of cycling.
From the homestay, you’ll cycle through the backroads of Mai Chau Valley, past the stilt-house villages of the Thai ethnic people and along beautiful country roads leading from Na Meo to Ban Xo.
Once you arrive in Ban Xo, you’ll enjoy a wonderful lunch at a local residence before heading to Mai Hich Valley, where you’ll check into your homestay in the late afternoon.
At the homestay, you’ll be able to rest and relax. After dinner, you’ll be free to explore the beautiful agricultural area.
Day 3: Mai Hich – Pu Luong Nature Reserve
You will enjoy an early breakfast at your homestay before getting back on the road.
You will spend the day riding towards the breathtaking Pu Luong Nature Reserve, cycling on both paved roads and narrow dirt tracks, passing some fantastic landscapes.
You will stop near Pu Luong Nature Reserve for a picknick lunch before continuing towards your homestay.
Once you arrive at the homestay, you’ll have a chance to recover from the 22-mile (35 km) cycling before having a delicious dinner.
Day 4: Pu Luong Nature Reserve - Hanoi
After enjoying breakfast at the homestay, you’ll cycle amongst the beautiful green rice terraces, passing local farms and villages.
Once you’ve completed the 10-mile (16 km) cycling, you’ll cross Canh Nang Bridge, where the support vehicle will be waiting for you to pick you up.
From Canh Nang, you’ll head back to Hanoi with a lunch stop on the way. Once in Hanoi, your driver will drop you off at your hotel.
